Electrolytic Seawater Chlorination System

Leveraging the advantages of abundant seawater resources, CPU Hydrogen has strategically expanded into the coastal industrial water treatment sector, providing customers with energy-efficient, safe, and integrated seawater electrochlorination system solutions for diverse applications. With outstanding advantages including low power consumption, intelligent operation, and superior salt spray corrosion resistance, CPU Hydrogen has delivered core equipment and turnkey solutions for benchmark projects such as coastal power plants, offshore platforms, and port terminals, enabling the coordinated development of marine engineering and coastal water treatment industries.

System Configuration

  • Pretreatment System: Seawater booster pumps and self-cleaning filters remove large suspended particles and impurities from seawater, ensuring qualified feedwater quality for the electrolyzer.
  • Electrolysis System: The electrolyzer serves as the core reaction unit, equipped with patented coated electrodes featuring excellent salt spray resistance and anti-corrosion performance, backed by a 5-year warranty.
  • Storage System: Sodium hypochlorite solution generated through seawater electrolysis is temporarily stored in sodium hypochlorite storage tanks.
  • Dosing System: Continuous dosing pumps and shock dosing pumps inject the finished sodium hypochlorite solution into the circulating water system.
  • Auxiliary System: Acid cleaning unit, hydrogen venting unit, and cooling unit integrated with comprehensive safety interlock protection.
  • Power Supply System: Rectifier transformer cabinet converts AC power into DC power for electrolysis reactions, with power consumption as low as 4.5 kWh/kg Cl₂.

Application Scenarios

  • Coastal Power Plants / Nuclear Power Circulating Water Systems: Effectively inhibits the attachment of shellfish and algae, preventing pipeline blockage and biofouling corrosion.
  • Offshore Platforms / Marine Ballast Tanks: On-site chlorine generation without hazardous chemical storage, meeting maritime environmental protection requirements.
  • Ports / Terminal Water Treatment: Provides cooling water treatment and ballast water disinfection with long-lasting microbial growth control.
  • Island / Coastal Industrial Park Water Disinfection: Utilizes locally available seawater resources to solve disinfectant transportation challenges in remote areas.

Core Advantages

  • Patented Electrode Technology: Proprietary coated anodes offer superior resistance to salt spray corrosion, ensuring long service life and stable operation.
  • Low Energy Consumption Design: Power consumption reduced by 15% compared with conventional systems, with available chlorine concentration up to 2500 ppm for lower operating costs.
  • Highly Integrated Solution: Skid-mounted and containerized designs minimize footprint, simplify installation, and enable rapid deployment.
  • Safe and Intelligent Control: Fully automated process monitoring, enclosed hydrogen discharge, and multiple safety interlocks ensure reliable and worry-free operation.
